On July 30, that persistency finally paid off. The newer model was a little longer and wider than its predecessor, and offered an extra support roller. It also had thicker armor and a slightly bigger engine than the Panzer III. But it weighed about one third less, at 22 tons, than its U. Another upgrade almost doubled the length of the original main gun. Its armor is no advantage and its maneuverability is no advantage.

The HUD is more limited than in casual, and you will be choosing spawn and objective locations as part of your gameplay strategy. Casual is a great place to practice against a wider variety of skill levels with no pressure, but every single game counts in Ranked.

In some cases these were tanks sold to Germany’s allies and sympathizers, and in other cases they were tanks captured by the enemy. Many of their new owners continued to use them in active service and so they circulated among various armies long after the war came to a close. The tank pictured here is one such case. This panzer was eventually purchased by the Syrian Army. Nobody knows for certain who sold it to the Syrians, but it probably came from Czechoslovakia sometime after being captured there by the Russian Mongols of the Red Army.

It is an opportunity for us to reflect on the language and ideas that represented each year. So, take a stroll down memory lane to remember all of our past Word of the Year selections. Change It wasn’t trendy , funny, nor was it coined on Twitter , but we thought change told a real story about how our users defined Unlike in , change was no longer a campaign slogan.

But, the term still held a lot of weight. Here’s an excerpt from our Word of the Year announcement in The national debate can arguably be summarized by the question: In the past two years, has there been enough change? Has there been too much? Meanwhile, many Americans continue to face change in their homes, bank accounts and jobs. Only time will tell if the latest wave of change Americans voted for in the midterm elections will result in a negative or positive outcome.

Design And Development After the Battle of Stalingrad, in September the Wehrmacht’s arms bureau, the Waffenamt, called for a new standard for assault weapons: Initially a new chassis was planned, but that of the Panzer IV had to be used. The Marder series were tall and had open crew compartments. The new design had a low silhouette and completely enclosed, casemate fighting compartment. Internally, the layout was changed to accommodate the new superstructure, moving the fuel tanks and ammunition racks[clarification needed].

Since the Jagdpanzer lacked a turret, the engine which originally powered the Panzer IV’s turret could be eliminated. The new superstructure had 80 mm thick sloped armour, which gives a much greater armor protection than a vertical armor of mm.

Three firms built prototypes, but the Krupp submission, which was designated VK , was given the production contract in As things turned out the final production version was a combination of features from both the Krupp and Rheinmetall designs. The project intention was disguised by the appellation of ‘battalionsfuhrerswagen’ battalion commander vehicle , and production began in after extensive trials.

Thus, the newest Panzer IV plastic kit from Dragon is an Ausf.D featuring a 5cm KwK39 L/60 main gun. Production of the Ausf.D had commenced in , with some tanks produced altogether, these mounting the short-barreled cm KwK37 L/24 gun.

By doing so they were able to reduce the time taken in development compared to a new design, they could use existing tank production lines rather than starting new ones, the cost of production was lower as was the production time compared to that of building a tank, whilst retaining the same firepower. Produced through out the war, its chassis was used for a number of other fighting vehicles including the Jagdpanzer IV.

It offered great protection for the crew thanks to its low profile, front slopping armour and fully enclosed fighting compartment. The vehicle through out its service life used different versions of a 75mm 7. It had a 4 man crew: The increased Length meant a greater muzzle velocity, thus improving range, accuracy and armour penetration.

This larger gun increased the front of the vehicles significantly enough that the 2 front road wheels were replaced with solid steel ones to reduce wear and tear. Many were fitted in the field with side armour plates to protect against bazooka fire. Some did have zimmerit added to protect against magnetic mines. They were officially known as TAs T4 in the army inventory and were used until Most of Germanys former vehicles were scrapped, but a few examples can be found in museums.

Matchmaking “Broken” – Your Input Hey guys, I don’t usually post things complaing, but the matchmaking seems to be a little crazy just now. Playing on the Black Prince 6. Seattle Seahawks owner and Microsoft cofounder Paul Allen says that he paid $ million for the Panzer IV tank and that it now belongs to him.

Hi Dave I have these other pictures where you can see a bit better the missing area. I suppose the general dimensions are identical to the simmilar ones in a standard Panzer IV. However I think the purpose of this space is different to a standard tank. In a standard tank this space is used by 3 boxes of ammo, the cartridges being stored vertically. If you look carefully to the Panzer IV pics, you see on the hull right side some small square fittings provided with screws, intended to hold these 3 ammo boxes.

I have seen sorry no pics the boxes in Saumur, they have the corresponding holes. Additionally if you compare to the jagdpanzer hull, you see that the small square fittings are NOT there, but instead you see an horizontal strip which is not in the tank hull: While checking a couple of books about this matter, without positive result no clear pic I have been looking the “normal” jagdpanzer IV information.

Just in case, a warning: Perhaps you already know about this, but: Only the transmision bar with a cowling remains, the crew working directly onto the hull floor. A Fuel tank and some ammo storage was put at the right side below and beside of the gun, behind the hull MG. The cartridges were parallel to the vehicle axis.

The painting shows the tank in action and is very accurate in the details and the colour scheme providing inspiration for the modeller. The articles are more than a simple review of this kit. They are intended to explain the process of building a highly detailed scale model showing all the various techniques needed and the challenges that have to be overcome. Not only has the injection molding process been continually refined, but where plastic cannot acccurately reproduce complex or tiny parts, other materials such as resin and brass photo-etch are now commonly used.

This has led to better and better models, but there has been a price.

Please take your time and read the blog rules Mar 1, Panzer IV in Czechoslovak service Hello everyone, today we’ll have a look at some of the German armor serving in post-war Czechoslovakia. Personally, I find the timeframe fascinating, when it comes to the Czechoslovak army tank composition. The early Czechoslovak army was a total mess of British, Soviet and German tech, some vehicles being present in one or two pieces only.

The German vehicles were – at least initially – quite numerous and the most numerous of them all along with the “Hetzer”, whose history in Czechoslovak service was generally described in the ” Czechoslovak tech tree – tank destroyers section ” was the Panzer IV. Let’s look back to the chaos of
